Reviews for No Introduction Necessary: Deluxe Edition (Audio CD) I purchased this CD looking for more material from Jimmy Page. I'm a HUGE fan of his and of Zeppelin. I recently came across this CD at the store and was immediately attracted to it because the packaging, the hefty price and the CD title "no introduction necessary", so I'm thinking this should be some great lost Jimmy work. This CD was a huge dissapointment!!! My first and major problem is that it's titled Jimmy Page's CD when he is only featured on songs 2,3,7,9,12 & 13 of the original 14 tracks. Albert Lee mans the rest of the original tracks. The first 14 tracks are also weak tracks to begin with. Fans of Jimmy Page's Zeppelin work will be hugely dissapointed with the sound, it sounds like a minimal version of the Yardbirds. The only thing that salvaged some of my money that I spent on this album was the bonus tracks 15-20. These songs are all Jimmy with an extra bonus, John Bonham is featured on drums. The songs themselves are weak (lyrics, vocals), but the backing band gives a great Zeppelin sound. Almost made the CD worth it but not what I expected.
Reviews for No Introduction Necessary: Deluxe Edition (Audio CD) The 1st part of this disc is a great little compilation with the various session guys that were big in England in the '60s just doing some songs they all liked. John Paul Jones is featured on some tracks along with Jimmy Page and Albert Lee... The last stuff is the Screaming Lord Sutch songs... If you want these two compliations get them in their proper way, No Introduction Necessary without the Lord Sutch stuff...and then get the Lord Sutch complete album which should have songs by both Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck.
Reviews for No Introduction Necessary: Deluxe Edition (Audio CD) This CD has two parts. The first 14 tracks are of various singers with Jimmy Page playing guitar on the recordings. They're tuned to more of the "oldies but goodies", pre-Beatles listeners.
The last 6 tracks have Page, Bonham, and Jones blasting out 1970 atomic metal with Screaming Lord Sutch on vocals. The difference between the 14th and the 15th track are quite contrasting, so be prepared for a jolt.
The entire CD is a great exposition of Page's development as Britain's axeman, and is well worth a listen to by anybody that admires his fretwork.
